Ok, I understand you can buy practically any type of vacation lighted shape, things or animal these days, however what if you could do it basic, and from things you may already have around the house? If you require inexpensive Christmas light ideas, try this! We created this Do It Yourself holiday light globe hack with wire baskets from the garden shed, ($ 5 at Home Depot!) some flower wire, and white mini lights. Make sure if you’re putting this world outdoors that you purchase lights authorized for outdoor use. Oh, and make certain all your lights are UL noted, ok? We don’t need any of you burning down the garage ’cause you saved $2 at a swap meet.:-RRB-.

So this is an actually basic Christmas light design.

1. Wire two wire hanging baskets together to make a globe shape. We utilized flower wire as shown below.

2. Wrap the world with white lights. We did a little wire tie every 12 inches or two, just to make certain everything remained in location. Utilize your own judgement, you might not require them at all! We used 2, 100 light strings.

3. Hang with the exact same chain and hardware that featured the hanging baskets. We attached the hooks near where the end of the lights came out, so that the cord could add the chains and be more concealed.

Done!

We hung our Do It Yourself Christmas light design off the eaves of the house, however we believe they would look cool laying in the garden as huge “Snowballs” too … Different sizes? You could have fun with this! Line the front walk with radiant globes?

We were influenced by these lighted worlds from ‘BHG’ … We discovered those large grapevine spheres are not only tough to find, but quite pricey even in little sizes. Hence, the hack! How ‘d we do?
